maybe they are stopping production because the new ARP4 style suspension will not fit the 4 seater?

A well reasoned thought Steve.

It would be a mistake big mistake, as the Four Seater has its niche and in some countries like France or even China it's quite popular. Nevertheless they stopped and resumed production with evolved versions twice, so there is hope. I think only one Plus 4 engine is enough for this model.

A sort of estate version!

I've mentioned similar in the past Philip. With a solid lockable cover over the rear "luggage" area for security... Would be ideal for me smile

I seem to remember that Steve Simmonds developed something along these lines, effectively a two seater hood with a tonneau type arrangement covering the 'luggage' area.

As confirmed by Steve Morris the Morgan MD today at the Allon White open day:-
1. they announced this early so potential buyers would not be surprised by the cut off
2. they expect to take c 12 months to resolve the compliance issues which are around ISOFIX points for child seats.

So they should be back

I like the ISOFIX system and had it in the UK, it's not approved in Australia so had to sell our seat etc. in the UK and buy new here. I believe this was in part to protect the local car market. The car we brought on landing had ISOFIX installed...but not allowed to be used. Aghhh.

However in a Morgan with the higher back seats is this a "tick box" exercise that will never be used?
