Yeh, I'm tempted to take it down to bare metal before I bend it and then respray or finish.
I wish you hadn't mentioned MG quarterlights- second only to earthing problems with Midget sidelights in the recurring nightmare stakes!!
Cheers

If the paint might crack, then there are two possibilities. Either gentle heat - hairdryer maybe, or test a small patch with 'surface leveller' which is basically thinners. The second option is more likely to soften the finish, but if it really is 'Hammerite' it will probably crack. Having said that, the inside of the curve is facing inside the car so it might just be OK. I think there will be sufficient strength to bend it enough. Don't overdo it, or the closing of the door might eventually cause a stress fracture. (Like the MGB quarterlight doorskin crack). I have bent mine (gently) a few times in order to tighten up the fit. No problems with the hammered finish so far. But if the finish does crack then it provides an excuse to get a nice SS set from John Worral ....

I'd forgotten all about the quarterlight bit - mine suffered on driver's side...

Just been looking at the close up of the windscreen rubber bits and noticed the tax disc holder!!!. I'm not normally a 'knit picker' but, Why don't dealers supply a decent one that suits the Trad. without all of that 'orrible gu' on the back

just looked again at gallery and noticed [i] speedo and rev counter position reversed compared with my 4/4 sport.[ii] neat elasticated pocket on tunnel, - on the other hand though my wife would fill it with junk, I'd have to stitch it down like the jacket pockets on a new suit

Easter, I had the garage reverse the position of the speedo and rev counter -- a personal preference. The map pocket on the tunnel and the elasticated door pockets were fitted by Steve Simmonds - fantastic quality job as are all the enhancements he does!! The Steering wheel is also a Simmonds item. At this stage I'll have to put in a complaint to the dealer as my face is still sore with constant grin

Hi Robbie, nice photos. i thought they donīt fit the sidelights anymore ...
Your photo ...2786 could have been taken in my yard, only that the Morgan is black. Are you (your son) satisfied with the Elise? When I bought the Morgan I did not consider selling the Lotus, it is still great to have the choice.
Take care of both, Andy

Andy, He loves the car - he has had it for 4 years now. He just happened to be visiting that day when the photos were taken. I like driving it(when I get the chance!!) but for me it is just too hard to get in and out of to make it a viable car. Pity as I have always had a soft spot for Lotus's ever since getting a ride in an early 7 when I was a kid.
