My veneer dashboard seems to have greasy markings on it by the glovebox and not entirely sure what has caused it. Obviously tried a damp cloth etc, Pledge and tried waxing it with Autoglymm HD wax which I used for the car anyway but that has made no difference. I wondered whether anyone had any tips. Not the end of the world but when the light shines on it, it is quite noticeable.

Not sure what the finish on yours will be but i had similar marks on my old MG dash, took them out with some mild cutting paste, actually i think it was some metal polish i used. Then waxed after.
Of course if the marks are under the lacquer thats another matter.

Try white spirit (not Turps) on a chamois , let the MUST BE white spirit soak the leather till soft so you do not rough the wood . The white spirit will evaporate away. If marks go away and you use hard carnauba wax give the dash a couple of coating polishing each one away before you apply the next coat.

I had the same problem on my previous car and never did find a solution hence I went for a painted dash this time around.

Here for a good time not a long time!!

Could be sun lotion fingerprints (See recent post on Malvern Arms)
If it has not gone cloudy a good paint restorer will do it.

Ab yes that will be it. Thanks for advice. Any recommended? Bit scared at the thought of getting it wrong!

Is there a fix for this?

My one year old wood dashboard has a large dull patch on the glove box compartment which is obviously from sun lotion. Is there anything that can bring the shine back?

Also there are quite a number of scratches on it where Mrs Scratched (yes, I get the irony) has been pressing on the glove box door (fingernail damage I suspect).

Is there a wood/varnish version of T-Cut?

Cheers

My suggestion would be to try lighter fluid

It's my 'go to' cleaner for this type of thing

No experience with using it on sun cream blooms but have used it on AC and pre cat lacquers to good effect

I'm not sure what lacquer Morgan use on the veneered dashboards so try on a tiny bit first

I thought that I would contact the factory for their view and I am pleased to say they were very prompt and helpful. They suggest that if the sun lotion is on the surface then a fine cutting paste and then a good polish should suffice.

So with that in mind can anyone recommend a suitable cutting paste?

Cheers
