Thought it was time I stopped posting my daily drives on the Classic forum! winky
So far three days into the Ireland trip with swmbo and it's going well in spite of a lot of rain.
Great food and drink, and long walks in stunning scenery, and apart from a flat battery on the first morning, the car is going beautifully.
Lessons learned so far -
1. Don't ever complain again about South Glos Council's road repair failures! It seems the main roads in S Ireland are ok, but every time you drive into a town or village the road has not been maintained for years.
2. The towing fitting under the front of the S3 takes a hammering. Fortunately - so far! - the sump has stayed clear of speed bumps and other obstacles, but that tow fitting has taken a few hard hits.
3. The S3 hood is - so far - watertight. The windscreen wipers are just satisfactory.
4. Thanks to the previous owner's tip I have so far not filled the boot with water every time I've opened it - a cloth to clear the water off first works wonders! wine
5. I cannot count the number of times people have waved, photographed, thumbs upped, or stopped to talk about the car.
Even swmbo has been waving to people. I think she may be enjoying it! joy
Round Sheep's Head today, and Ring of Kerry tomorrow - weather permitting.
Photos will follow when we get back. No way of loading at present.

Sounds great Rob.
I've done Ring of Kerry in a BMW 528 (pre-i) and on an R100RT...
Love the scenery. thumbs

We had a company/customer event yesterday at Jean Christophe Novelli's Food Academy. If anyone needs to run a corporate hospitality event I cannot recommend this highly enough.

Winchester to Luton and back resulted in a good few photos. Luton Hoo hotel must have seen fifty+ people capturing it in car park.

Then the best of all. In the courtyard at JCN's home/acadamy and his wife and children come home. Both boys desperate to get at the car. So I handed over the keys to Mrs JCN and they had photos sitting in it. Totally made their day.

Mog's work better than Xanex. Almost as well as a big hug.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Great news, Shooter! Looking forward to hearing about it and seeing it.
We had a very wet day in SW Ireland - the rain was so heavy we forewent most of the Ring of Kerry and ended up on the Dingle peninsular getting soaked on a long walk.
Fabulous scenery albeit with very low cloud cover, but the Aero is coping well, and swmbo has started to refer to it as "our car" - all the Caterhams and the Roadster were always "your car"!
Tomorrow off to Tipperary - I know, it's a long way, but the Mog will love it, and hopefully the rain will ease a bit.

Alastair - that first photo is stunning! Beautiful car, great colour, and what a place to have an event.

Always a good sign. But problems when you come to move on - I still get comments about how I sold her bike ( the Pan Euro ST1100 she was comfortable on) and her boat ( a Prout cat that didnt heel)
