I remember Cortina well from a school trip in my early teens. Attempting to chat up a shop girl. She didn't speak English or French. I didn't do Italian. So on desperation I tried Latin. Couldn't be much different could it. Unfortunately we were doing Caesars Gallic wars at the time so the best I could manage was " will you come to.my encampment?" Didn't work. Peals of laughter.. Probably the broad Yorkshire accent

If it is anything like here today there is a lot more snow on those peaks now! Snow in mid June! So much for global warming

If it is anything like here today there is a lot more snow on those peaks now! Snow in mid June! So much for global warming 31°C at Lake Garda yesterday and 1.5°C on the Grossglockner Alpine Road today.
