My 2015 three wheeler left the dealer only a few days ago. I will of course direct any problems to them. But I am technically interested in burning rubber pongs at take off or on any kind of hill start. Also thought the belt jumped a couple of cogs .
The belt doesn't feel loose ( OK, 1" play roughly and 45 deg twist etc) and being toothed I can't see it slipping like a worn V belt.
Anyone thoughts from the experts?

Possibly a bit too much right foot on take off?
It's quite easy to spin the back tyre.

Could be the belt. An inch is on the looser side for Morgan.
Every now and then the compensator will readjust itself and that will feel a bit like ratcheting (slipping a tooth). That usually only happens at very low revs which is a no-no anyway. You have been warned.
I avoid burning out now as it's a great way to really wear out the rear tire which is a colossal pain to swap out.
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

Initially it's way easier to do a burn out than to avoid it. Gotta learn not to. 😊

Initially it's way easier to do a burn out than to avoid it. Gotta learn not to. 😊 Took me about 2,000 miles to really learn control on this Blau Beastie. I still do them as I take part in the local Fourth of July parade and they insist on donuts!

I experienced the same thing on a hill start early on, heard a squeal, smelled burning rubber. I checked the belt when I got home and could not see any burn marks or scuffing, so assume I lit the tire. I would rather burn the tire than burn the clutch.

Always ensure the handbrake is fully off. This may sound schoolboy error stuff but it's really easy on the m3w to leave it on partially.

I quite see that people would think it's the (burning rubber) tire but the foot is very gentle especially since it happened the first time. A momentary break in traction on a hill start wouldn't burn rubber anyway.
I did let the hand brake catch for a second but couldn't be sure if it was that, as I don't yet know how it works on this 3 wheeler set up.
The second and third time, there was no use of handbrake.
Treating with kid gloves as I do my old bikes.
