Spot on Peter. It may be one of the non compliant ones so should have had the rear springs replaced already (and may be the fronts). Most in NSW, Victoria and W.A. have been done by now.
2011 was the period when Morgan had poor quality rear springs so check ground clearance under the gearbox crossmember. 195/65 R15 tyres will give you 10mm more. A change of tyres should be considered just for the age anyway.

I believe they are fitting 4 seater springs. Not exactly the thing for a comfortable ride I would have thought. If I had not changed to 5 link rear suspension I would have fitted a set of new asymmetrical springs as designed by Dan White of Suplex then, as I have done, a set of 195/65 R15 tyres. Aesthetically better too as the wheel arch is better filled.

The other thing to be aware of with the Plus4 Duratec is that some of the hoses are positioned to chafe on sharp bits of engine, so watch out for this.

I have the four seater springs now fitted on my little 4/4 - so far so good and the ride is pretty decent as well. The four seater rear springs are pretty good!

No this is another one, the one you are thinking of has only done 5000km and is a 1997/8.

The engine is barely run in. If it was a late 2011 build it probably has the Mazda gearbox, which is good. I'm not sure when the Mazda box went into the Plus 4.
Engine can be fairly easily tuned and if you are not worried about noise a sports manifold and exhaust would be the first thing to fit.
There are a couple of possible places where water can come in but since it never rains in Perth this should not be a problem. They can be fixed anyway.
Seats can be a bugger to slide but that can be fixed too.

Decent dampers, as a minimum, should be on the "to do" list. Not sure what gearbox, will check. The rear springs have been replaced. Thanks Peter

I'm just wondering if you would drive the mog top down in the heat of a Perth summer. In Spain I drove my ragtop with the roof up during the summer months but I did have aircon! BTW I'll be there early next year. Look out for a bloke with a Morgan cap! John, On very hot days, top on with no windows, but usually the airconditioner speed matches the speedo

Thanks Peter, I have also just read "Ramblings of an Aussie in Italy"  So that gives me some more ideas. Thanks again to everyone for their advice, will let you know on my decision.
