Hi The last two times I've tried to start the car, put the key into ignition but then I couldn't get the key to turn. Eventually after a a few goes it suddenly turns and you can start the engine. has anyone else had a problem? That apart the car is an absolute joy to drive.
You cannot activate the start button until you have turned the key. My problem is that although the key goes into the ignition you occasionally cannot get it to turn. I've tried moving the steering wheel to see if it's a steering lock issue but that's not the case.
I think your first suggestion of a steering lock issue is the most likely cause. The car was initially supplied without the paddle change steering wheel and the dealer had to carryout the change so I'll get them to check it out. I just need to get it sorted before we go to the LMC.
Have you tried turning the key gently whilst rocking the steering wheel from side to side? Sorry - an obvious question.
I had an Aston that was very steering lock hungry (if you know what I mean). You couldn't just put the key in and turn it - it always needed the wheel rocked a bit.
Does the steering lock activate immediately you take the key out - or is there still a little bit of turn before it does?

Derek; I find that my "all purpose precision adjuster" tends to solve this type of problem.
