A couple of pics from the Ireland trip. The first is on Sheep's Head near the lighthouse looking west across Bantry Bay - with no rain! and the second is on the Ring of Kerry - poured all day! What a glorious country! Great walking, food, drink, and quiet roads, although the surface in towns was often very poor. Can't wait to go back. Great pictures and boy how the colour of your car catches the mood of the weather on that day. It is a wonderful country both parts of it and some of the friendliest most welcoming people on earth, I travelled both parts extensively on business and loved the trips. The oyster festival in Galway was truly memorable. I was in Jurys hotel at Balls bridge Dublin the night Johnny Logan won the Eurovision song contest we were pi88ed for two days.. I must take the Morgan out sometime and show my wife some of it one day.

Similar thing happened to me at Prescott Adrian. Parked on the grass facing slightly down hill and when it came to reversing back up to the tarmac the rear end crabbed sideways towards the car parked next door. Nailbiting but luckily it just gripped in time.
How do you manage 27mpg? I got 16 mpg on the last tank full and thats driving like Mother Teresa. OK there's a bit more power but not that much to account for the difference. Not something I will repeat in a hurry anywhere, I am usually very cautious about stuff like this. Surprised you are getting low mpg, my F355 spider regularly returned 22-24mpg and I didn't hang around in it. The Testarossa was good for 20mpg, but plummeted to 10 on a track day.

Just calculated the fuel consumption on the Ireland trip, and over 960 miles it works out at 31 mpg. Admittedly a lot of the driving was very slow due to the road conditions and the weather, but still surprised me.

I was a bit surprised too! I thought it might be weight but its mid way weight wise between the 355 and the TR. About 100 bhp more than either and a different engine so maybe thats the reason. Mind you most of the time I drive in auto which leaves me in 6th gear at 2500 rpm. The official factory figure is 18mpg and they are never pessimistic are they? In the end the fuel for maybe 2000 miles pa wont break the bank

Did several one hour round trips over the weekend.... as always it attracts a lot of attention when parked. It's such a fat hot rod!
Just cleaned it, I love the look - but it is rather slab fronted. I think I have collected just about every insect species known to man on the front.

If Zika ever makes it to the UK we may have to take all the Mogs out to assist !

well, not quite *my* Morgan, but had a run out in Williams' Aero 8 demonstrator. Very nice... if the burgundy demonstrator was tangibly better than the cream one, then this production car a step better again. The auto paddle shift works very well, with lovely throttle blips on downshifts. & I took the roof down It's a couple of minutes' work. & then a minute to put the poppers on the tonneau cover. There's some good useable space in the storage area, even with the hood down.

Mine doesn't blip on downshifts for some reason - is this something that could be adjusted somehow?

Drove mine back from Berrybrook after finishing off the wheel refurbishment with new original decals and lacquer. They look brilliant, will try and post some pictures tommorow. Whilst up on the ramp James drained the gearbox oil and replaced it with the Fuch fully ester synthetic Synthtrans, great stuff makes 1st and 2nd easier when cold, did the same in my Roadster. Drive home was good with roof off and easy gear changes.
