For me it is the best morgan i ever had .The engine noise is exeptional.It's sound like a second war warplane.The rear supension is much better and confortable than leafs.I have only made 350 km with the car so i dont have made more than 4000 rd/min.The car is very pleasant to drive even at 2000 rd/min in fourth.When the hood is up the car is more quiet than my 4/4 sport.I dont have a problem to park the car with the handbrake.What has to be fixed is a metallic noise behind the dashboard and maybee the brakes wich are not so powerfull.In Belgium the taxes are much lower for a 2 litres again a 3.9 litres.

Because the ARP4 was marketed as a fast and comfortable tourer, there are many owners who, not unaturally, expected it to also have some torque, which it hasn't.
My opinion, for what it's worth, is that MMC specified the wrong engine, it should either have been the 3.7 V6 or a 2.5 Duratec, whereas, what they have installed is, effectively, a full race engine that only fully comes alive beyond 5000 revs. Sure it is drivable below that, but there is no pull, the driver really has to change down 2 gears to get into the power band. Not everyones cup of tea, as we are finding out.
It is also a bit L O U D, easily overcome with a longer straight through silencer, but enough to put off some new owner [s]. As one of those who did decide that the ARP4 was not for me, I could not agree more. I was completely hooked on the car's pre-sale marketing description which seemed to offer something very special - a fast touring car with a great look and trim but I was very disappointed with the lack of low down torque and the fact that I had to put my biking ear plugs in to enjoy driving it. I still love the car's looks and regret that it didn't meet my expectations. However, I delight in the pleasure which it is clearly giving many of the ARP4 owners - SFO seemed to have had a great blast in the car when circuiting Ireland last month. Anyway, my new Roadster is in build at the moment and I am getting excited once again at the prospect of taking delivery later this month. Happy days!

Neither, but it would appear that as it is a Morgan, some cars are better than others. I'd heard that early cars had to have their roller barrel throttle bodies changed and there is an update to the mapping in the ECU, plus, of course, some suspension setup problems to be overcome on some cars.
There is also a difference in each owners expectation of the way they think the car should perform, so one owner will love reving the nuts off it and seeing the change up light at 7200 in each gear, whilst to another this style of driving might be a complete anathma.

I love the marmite aspect of these cars..!
If they appealed to everyone, they'd be flying out of the doors.
People had issues with the P4SS but having got them sorted over the years, they would make a brilliant car if they had an easy-up hood.
I think history will record them as being a success for MMC but, like the M3W, it will take years to fully shake them down. Whether as an owner you're happy with that is a personal choice. All I know is that people walk past my humble 4/4 to look deeper at the Cosworth legend..

Steve I would not walk past a red black packed 4/4 without stopping and mumbling OMG and taking a pic with my mobile phone !

I may have gone for red had my Roadster not been red. Red and black is a great combo, and the matching polo shirt and black jeans is the biz.
