Well after the disappointment of being told no-one can look at the Aero before Goodwood (EML on suspected Lambda) I thought I would give the engine bay a good detail as I had yet to do so, whilst there I unplugged the offending Lambda gave the connector a wipe and put it back on.

Finished the cleaning started her up and amazingly the EML hasn't come back on (I cleared it before startup), I ran her for about half an hour up to temp, gave it a few revs, held some revs, A/C on and off.. and still not on. Before the "clean" it came on about a minute after clearing the code on idle.

So fingers crossed it may be sorted and I can take it to Goodwood! Although I am not holding my breath.
EIther way the engine bay came up a treat with a bit of elbow grease, I must say every time I work on her she looks better and better, and does seem to be in fabulous condition.

I did notice I am missing a blanking plug on the engine block however, does anyone know if you can get these? It is the right-hand OSF plug just to the right of the Morgan plaque..

Anywho some pics of the end result, not perfect..but I have future plans for perfection.

Didn't put the full cover on as I do confess to taking a peak at her now and again! But the roof was a bit dusty after a week so I vacuumed it and covered just the roof with the undercover.

And a few final shots of how she sleeps...

That engine bay looks like it's never been used. Very tidy.

somehow it just isnt "natural" to have a garage as clean and tidy as those pictures. did you have a tidy bedroom as a teenager? flyingpig or is this something that has come on to you later in life? laugh

Thanks Martin smile.

Howard I have always liked a mint workshop/garage and as such it is as clean as my house/garden!

It does get used though, I did a full underbody restoration over the past 3 years on my old car - all I did was put a thick tarp down to protect the carpet and made sure I kept everything tidy/clean. I do use a lot of brake cleaner!

Looking good, don't be surprised if it turns out to be a bad connection to the Lambda sensor, well known issue on Roadsters due to water ingress.

I would be over the moon if that was the case, I've been planning my week off to Bealieu and Goodwood for nearly a year now and I would be gutted if I had to leave the Aero behind, I spent so much money on fancy places to park in anticipation of Aero ownership laugh2

Crikey Ruud !!!

You don't call a BMW V8 an engine ?

You're dead picky.

Nick

Those black wheels on your car look mean. Nice. Keep them away from the kerb.
