After the first newbie failed attempt at a post this is a clean version

The question I wanted to ask . Has anyone found a plastic chromer to chrome the black switch bezels and indicator light frame to match the chrome bezels I have sourced from auto electrcial spares ie convert to US MGB spec as 2nd poor photo [img:center][/img]

http://www.autoelectricalspares.co.uk/bezels-glass--seals-for-smiths--lucas--jaeger-gauges-68-c.asp

Also does anyone who may have upgraded their dashboard have the original two right hand rocker switches or the indictor light cluster- mine have been changed at some time

Left Lights - should be marked Lights similat to 3 righthand switches

One in from left - Front fog - should have a yellow square but no letters?

Hi Red,
If that picture is of your Dashboard, then you have got the original Warning Light Cluster fitted as fitted to the Jaguar XJ-S with a slight change in warning lenses. I think you will find your switches were changed because the Lucas ones fitted fitted by Morgans were rubbish, they fell apart. I would fit a new set complete. As regard the metalizers, Invictavac have been recommended to me www.invictavac.com, however I have no experience of their services myself

Thanks for the advice

Ihave mocked up possible dash boards and photo 1 works for me with chroming - I have used chromed sticky back plastic for the mock up which works

2nd is a mock up with chromed back plate from mini spares - this woudl mean choke and heater could be moved to the dashboard, which would give somewhere to hang the handbag - but doesn't work for me so I'm off on option 1.

I also found some burgundy vinyl which matches my original leather which should help with other repairs on my budget interior refresh - I can't afford the 5k pro-job

This is the +8 Bitsa dash. It is a work in progress. I was striving for simplicity. There fore the Chrome switch is a light switch for an early Jaguar. It has two positions. Running lights/ignition and driving lights/ignition. No ignition key. The 4 gauges are; Fuel, Volts, Oil Pressure, and vacuum. ( like vacuum to keep me from lugging the engine. Water temp is to the left of the steering wheel. Not sure You can see it but the windshield wipers are mechanical. As I use Rainex they are hardly used. But will probably relocate the handle to the left of the steering wheel. Reaching thru the steering wheel is a bit tacky, but it works as is. Turn indicator lever is on the steering column. Horn will probably stay as is. I like it - funky Model A look. There is a woodworker in Southern Oregon. Myrtle-wood is readily available. He is waiting for Me to make up My mind. I am thinking of a wood that is not so flashy. Any ideas. Mathias?
