It certainly does! There's nothing wrong with buying in products and expertise when doing projects like this, but to my mind doing it yourself as you have done is a wonderful way of putting a bit more of yourself into the car, especially when the result is as good as this is.

Thankyou for all the positive feedback - it spurs me on to do more work. Next is an interior leather refurb using a £50 Nuera Leather kit - I can't afford the full £5,000 retrim. Then a clean up under the bonnet. I have posted additional dashboard photos on the dashboard thread at

Like Red and Button, I to have a Dashboard project under way. I have decided to replaced original leather faced Dashboard, pretty much identical to Reds except the clocks on mine have blackened bezels, with a burr oak veneered Dashboard that will have magnolia clocks, a button start, Mark 2 Jaguar 4 position rotary light switch and a warning light array that I have in the form of the Morgan badge with direction indicators, oil pressure, brake, charge and beam lamps
I have included a few pictures to give you an idea of what I am trying to achieve

There is a lot I can do ( or not do) with my +8 Bitsa that others can not do. Canadians have a MOT as well as UK. However if I were in an accident because of equipment failure, that may not be the case.

That Morgan badge with direction indicators and the warning lights Bilibib is quite simply superb

I don't think I've ever seen such an artistic, creative and functional Morgan owner addition as that

please keep us updated with the project

Will you have it at MOG16?

I'm deliberately replying to this thread tonight to push it up the list in active topics so this wonderful creation doesn't get missed

Sadly I don't think many have clocked this yet - it deserves its own thread

Thank you Stewart for your positive comments, I must admit I am very pleased with the finished result, it's taken 18 months off and on from concept to completion. Now I must concentrate on the Dashboard to conclude the instrument unit assembly, hopefully it will not take so long to complete, if I can allocate time amongst other aspects of my restoration project, whatever I keep you posted
In answer to your question, unfortunately I will not be attending MOG 16, hopefully next year, when I will bring Florence, and that's not my wife
