Well i know if at least 1 S1 that has doughnuted the war memorial in Oundle and spent several roundabouts sideways. Allegedly they are very predictable and controllable when they do let go.

I've had mine sideways a couple of times - very correctable and not for the faint hearted.  I think my advancing years must be getting the better of me as I have so far refrained from finding the rear end tail wag point. However in the next few months I am thinking of going to a venue where I can safely play, can anyone recommend any venue in the south such as old aero drones that offer this?

A Castle Combe test day could be an option. It's so easy to get it very wrong with the aero chassis, especially in the wet. I feel I could also benefit from some off road practice.

Top Gear USA tested the Supersport at Bruntingthorpe - taking it to silly speeds in a straight line (which is scary) and also pushing the handling.
I've not found it that easy to balance on the tail. I know when it will come round but I don't find it overly progressive. Mind you the other 2 cars I have being find the limits with recently have been an Exige S and the M3 (on slicks) - both on track.
I find you can make more than adequate (where adequate is the stated limit) without the back-end ever getting lively. I suspect the brand new Golf R I dropped easily on the back roads wasn't expecting how well they go round corners.

Tarka seems to have MMC's "Sports" exhaust, so I've no real idea what power it is tuned to.
"Enough" springs to mind....
I'm sure I've seen the side exhausts quoted at adding 20bhp to the 4.8l engine. & agreed - it's a Bentleyesque 'adequate power' for British roads. If the idea was to build a track/race car, with additional downforce & suspension to cope with the power, then a supercharger would be a fast way to add grunt.

I would love an offroad day as such, be very interesting.
I have a feeling any hot hatch would muller it down back roads...

I have seen a few hot hatches cooling off IN the hedges - some that hot they needed to lie on their roof's !

Does anyone know if this is so? I believe you are correct, but was told side pipes can be a bit invasive noise wise, good good for skirt lifting though
