Not a major problem, more of an inconvenience. On the factory easy up hood front rail there are over centre clips at either end (black in colour) they often have the 'J' section that is threaded snap. Mine have not done that (touch wood) but the small plastic clip that holds the unit together when the hood is down has snapped on one side.

They are like flat plastic blades with a barb on one end that holds the catches neatly together when not in use.

Anyone know if these are available separately? I don't want to buy a whole clip just for this part as it still functions well but for neatness is closed with a rubber band when the hood is down which looks naff.

Cheers.

I tried to buy the exact same clip not so long a ago but was no able to find a supplier. I bought the whole catch from Brands Hatch Morgan and then just swapped the clip to the catch fitted to the hood. Sorry cant remember how much it was.

Thanks Jim, someone said they were close to £50 which seems expensive as the only problem is the plastics. Cheers.

Any chance of a photo?

I don't think that The Plus 8 has these plastic bits and the Roadster certainly didn't.

I guess it's the plastic locking clip you are talking about.

i was really curious and asked to see a photo!

But after a bit of investigation with a small scraper I've realised what I had thought were aluminium extrusions are actually the molded plastic clips mentioned.

I can see how they might fracture and yes, replacing them would be very difficult. So having to replace the complete clip just because a 50p bit of plastic brakes would annoy.

Not wonderful quality, but should be clear.

The black bit below the words is the one that seems to fail.
