My opinion, for what it's worth, is that MMC specified the wrong engine, it should either have been the 3.7 V6 or a 2.5 Duratec, whereas, what they have installed is, effectively, a full race engine that only fully comes alive beyond 5000 revs. Sure it is drivable below that, but there is no pull, the driver really has to change down 2 gears to get into the power band. Not everyones cup of tea, as we are finding out.

It is also a bit L O U D, easily overcome with a longer straight through silencer, but enough to put off some new owner [s].

Perhaps it just needed a supercharger to provide some mid range torque..?

In 3rd gear to 170km/h and using the shifting lamp is a pleasure (if there is time to look at it ;-)
5th gear is for Autobahn cruising, but i didn't use the 5th very often.

Every day in this silver lady is a pleasure

Says it all doesn't it?

170km/h (106 mph) is throw away your licence, go straight to jail, speed in most countries. That is not to say that I have never done it, and more, but only for brief spurts innocent

That plus the fact that the maximum legal cruise speed in 5th is around 3,000 rpm doesn't really add up to a fast sports tourer does it.

I think Dave summed it up pretty well: a 2.5 litre would have been a better choice.

Whilst it is nice to see the factory trying out lots of different "limited" editions, I for one would rather that they concentrate wholly on getting everything correct, as far as humanly possible, on the cars they are already building.
It obviously makes good commercial sense for Morgan to sell these "limited" editions otherwise they wouldn't do it but there does seem to always be a bit of a back lash e.g. the hand brake on the ARP4 which must cost money to rectify plus it leads to some ill feeling which is not what any manufacturer wants no matter what their size.
IMHO, Morgans are brilliant at what they do no matter which model one owns and I do feel that by trying to change what they are they loose something of what they have. Obviously just my opinion. uk

Thorsten, That's 170km/h at 4,500 is it?

The car was at BHM's Goodwood track day today. It sounded ok but the supercharged +4 of my mate's that we went in was noticeably quicker, and sounded better!!
I was very impressed withe the supercharged duratec, it has 275bhp so was nippy, but didn't feel overpowered.
Plenty of power right through the rev range.

Supercharger plus fitting plus new internal parts to cope with above 220bhp power then there's RR set up , no change out of £10 k.

Geneva 2016 plus 8' The Green Godess' 4 side exits .
