I thought I'd have a go at fitting the remote greasing kit I had..
Well its straightforward enough but took the best part of half a day. Getting the angles of the fittings right was a bit of a faff and making sure the pipes had good runs etc.. putting them in hot water made it a bit easier as they were like springs out of the packet!
Not loads of room under the bonnet with flat surfaces to install the blocks either, but its done.
One question. the top greaser, where does the grease come out as I put a few pumps in with nothing showing?

At the same place the grease you add at the bottom does

Steve
The kingpin is drilled vertically and then cross drilled to an annular groove so ultimately the grease goes into the central void between the bushes in the stub axle.....from there it will bleed down and normally appears around the steering bearing, unusually beneath it (which I see from your model year you have fitted) on earlier cars the stub is drilled and grooved and the grease appears below the damper blade mounting bronze.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Colin and John, understood. Probably easy to over do it, can't need more than a couple of pumps once it's through?

That's the reason why I am not in favour of them, I can absolutely, 100%, see the advantages of the kits for easy greasing but I do wonder if not used with care that excess grease and an unprotected brake disc could lead to issues. Also I am a great fan of getting under with a couple of spanners and giving the front a spanner check and a visual look over for leaks and issues. Not anti the kit as its better than doing nothing and for some getting under is difficult (I am getting that way as the other knee is giving out). Sorry, forgot to say, yes once the grease is bled through 2 or 3 pumps a side is about it.....if it's quiet you can actually hear the grease 'crack' through, from there I give is 2-3 shots more.

Not only knees, but recently when getting up after lying under the car I have suffered dizziness and Mrs St Eve has banned me from doing it. So the remote greasing kit I have is a real help. And, as you say, 2 or 3 pumps on each point does it.

I agree with Colin about the benefit of doing a wheels off greasing and identify with those who find getting under more difficult. However I think that the remote greasing is a good idea when doing long continental runs (2,000 miles+) since there is peace of mind in being able to give the suspension a couple of strokes along the way.

I just bought an electric grease gun. That really pushed out the old grease & now it is easier to do.
The car has the plastic (Devol) bushings which Mr Morgan recommends greasing every 5k or when they squeak. I have been opting for 1k, GoMog says 3k. Am I overdoing it?
What do others with Devol bushes do?

Replace with bronze spiral grooved and hard chromes KPs? Worth looking at the photos of Ken's (UVK33N) KPs...
