In more ways than one.

I was driving the Coupe into my office this morning. A34/M4 was still wet on the road surface but not really raining. Usual traffic builds up around Calcot junction.

As it starts moving I give the Coupe a boot to pull away and the ZF autobox is in second which is normal. The back wheels instantly spin up like bobbins and the car moves as fast sideways as it does forwards for 2-3 feet. I catch it and hold it slightly sideways as I trundle forwards with the wheels spinning. Lift off and hit the brake for the next queue. Never went above 10 mph road speed.

I look at the people around me and can see a lot of tonsils ! Huge open mouth gawps. Hilarious.

Time to get rid of these horrible Avons I think. Rubbish in the wet.

Maybe what you need is a sack of cement in the boot?

Takes me back to my 3000e Capri fun and games in the wet.
There was a Morgan owner who had Avons fitted to his new +8 said they were lethal in the wet also.
Bag of cement or sand will do the trick.
There was and Aston Martin DB5 last year who wasn't able to correct his back end .He wrapped it round a post nobody hurt just his pride .
Take care !

What you needs is a drawing board pin in the sole of your right shoe so it hurts when you press too hard on the accelerater laugh2

I thought having an occasional back end wiggle was all part of the fun!

That's exactly what happened to me when I drove the coupe at a factory open day. The only unfortunate thing was that I had Steve Morris sitting next to me. He was very good about it...he just said "we've only got one of these"!
I have to say the road was just as you describe weatherwise. I then took out the plus 8 (with a different member of staff) and that stayed in a straight line!
Great fun cars eh?

Already on the move about 30-40 exiting Sparkford roundabout going to work I somehow managed to light the rear tyres up - I think I need a heavier axle!

Or slightly lighter right foot, but where's the pleasure in that!

Buy a 4/4. Takes determination to light up the rear end, so a lot more fun.
woohoo
