I think I have narrowed my search for a Morgan to replace my Lotus 2 Eleven to the Super Sports model.

I intend to use the car for a combination of circa a dozen track days a year, pottering and a little bit of touring. I have searched the forum and note the issues with the ECU and emissions. I also see that the number of members have owned one of these lovely vehicles.

I would very much appreciate comments on how people have found the cars and particularly whether they've been much fun on track and how they perform against other track day cars. Are they heavy on consumables?

I'm aware that 60/60 is for sale at Williams; does anyone know of any other vehicles for sale?

Go to the Morgan Motor Co website, and use the car locator. The last time I looked there were several Supersports for sale. MR11 MOG had a well sorted example.

There was a nice looking SS at Newtown last time i looked.

Remember that AR did a version with fully plumbed Race Gear/Track Ready etc.

I have seen a couple of these for sale - could be bargains!!

I had a plus 4 ss and enjoyed it no end, revolutions now have it,
never had it long enough for mot so not sure regards ecu problems,
you must try one.

I bet they're corkers on the track! I've been fortunate enough to drive one on the road & they send the hairs up on the back of your neck..

The throttle bodies have a soundtrack of their own & a red line just to the right of your right elbow. Lovely!

It's probably the ideal choice given what You've suggested, and I'd be contacting those people who race them for some first hand advice.

I'd agree with Neil. Very possibly a future classic & thus a bargain at the moment..

Out of curiosity I did a search and found only 2 for sale at the moment.

A fantastic model with a great engine. I am sure either of them would suit you well.

One of NI members had one for sale fairly recently, I'm not sure if it has gone yet.

Many thanks for the replies, I hadn't realised that the Morgan website displayed cars that weren't advertised anywhere else, very useful!

I've found four on the market, priced between £41k and £46k. The Iris blue cars look truly splendid! Any thoughts on the value of these cars as opposed to the advertised price?

Value will always be what you pay. Good deals to be done, but probably not much leeway unless anyone needs to shift them along.

Retained value will always be strong as they were a limited number. The downside was the much vaunted emissions upon MoT time, but MMC verified downloads are available and I know Peter (MR11MOG) spent a lot on his own car but ended up with a peach, only selling to get a Cosworth version with more legroom & handbrake etc.

Go and try one for size, see how you get along with one. My advice would be to choose a dealer that feels good to you and not just the bottom line. Bad dealers are available, but good dealers are worth millions at times.
