Welcome to the beginning of negotiation hell. This will run for the next decade as everyone sticks out their elbows for better terms. This will trigger reform and then the next vote will be for us to join !

That petition is just that, it does not have the force of law. There is no way to challenge the result of the EU Referendum

A happy divorce is a fast divorce - everything else costs even more. Some billions of value have already been burned yesterday...

That petition is just that, it does not have the force of law. There is no way to challenge the result of the EU Referendum The referendum result is not legally binding - Parliament still has to pass the laws that will get Britain out of the 28 nation bloc, starting with the repeal of the 1972 European Communities Act. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-32810887

[ EU Referendum Rules triggering a 2nd EU ReferendumWe the undersigned call upon HM Government to implement a rule that if the remain or leave vote is less than 60% based a turnout less than 75% there should be another referendum. https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/131215 They haven't really thought that one out have they ? I wonder how the vote would change if the referendum was to be re-done now that the reality of the situation has sunk in to those who voted "Leave"? The on-line petition is increasing at a rate of knots - over 1.2 million have signed it. It was just over 3/4 of a million earlier today.

Whilst I am not a supporter of the decision and voted to remain I feel it would be wrong to now over turn this on a retrospective view/campaign/House of Lords etc.. That would be the only thing worse than leaving in my view.
It was clear this was a one time event with no turning back.

I was a remainer but the deed is now done and things have changed forever. I heard on the Today programme this morning one of Boris Johnson's aides saying that people don't want to be told the truth if that truth is that we can't control immigration. Interesting and maybe true.
I think the maxim is 'you've made your bed; you'd better lie in it' (that might have been the version from 'Going Underground' by The Jam).

Bad losers undermine democracy. Those who chose not to vote effectively abstained. "Passive abstention".
The SNP were and are bad losers. These thinkers are not true democrats. There will always be huge numbers of disappointees in any vote or referendum.
That's democracy.
