The last 4 TGs have shown clearly that Evans is best suited to the radio, where he cannot be seen.

Probably time to let TG RIP. Episode 4 was at times amusing, but mostly tedious and contrived. As Miligoon has said the immaculate state of the Jaguar show car was incompatible with driving across Europe and the RR pair test in Ireland was almost as painful as "Big Brother"...

And did anyone notice the M3W in the group smoke trail stunt (why??) before the Zenos feature. And why had Evans not shaved? Grey beard and red hair isn't convincing....

I'm sure the TGT team are quietly smiling.

You can all say what you want but C E is not the man for the Job . No good having Plato he has an aversion to mogs and anything thats not the latest thing.

I admit to being an 'Old TG' fan, there I said it, I really enjoyed the show, the format and the presenters, including Clarkson. It was always, at least in recent years, more than a car show, one aimed at a wider audience than petrol head geeks....!!
But it had grown tired and was in need of a change, I think the beeb have really missed the opportunity to freshen it up, I almost didn't bother to watch this week, I did catch it up later in the evening but just cannot bear Chris Evans, his ego and his incestuous ways, it's all his mates from his circle of contacts, people like Paul Hollywood are his buddies whom he uses to keep current. For me Plato would be a candidate, don't care if he doesn't like Morgans, that's not what it's about, or Jason Barlow, Ant Anstead or even Tim Shaw from Car SOS.

Perhaps they should rotate presenters in and out, a bit like HIGNFY.
You don't need to know anything about cars to present TG and for me, only Matt Le Blanc and the lovely Sabine cut the mustard.

Plato is up his own ****, as is Needell. We don't need a rehash of fifth gear which is far too ordinary to be even watchable.

Watched EP4 last night. I am persisting because I want it to be successful but am having trouble.

I agree Matt is the only one I am comfortable watching. I have a knee jerk reaction to seeing the ginger one, I hit FF.

I liked the solo RR Dawn review Matt did but found the jokey childishness of the back to back RR section utterly aggravating. It underplayed the real attraction of both cars by comparing them. Why not put an old Morgan flat-rad up against an Aero S5 in the next one. They were both the staple models in the line up at some point right?

Chris has become irritating and has not transformed from the YouTube videos to the big screen sadly. I had higher hopes of him.

Stars in a car with welly's - blah. As uninteresting as ever.

The jag article - all your comments above say everything ! What a plastic segment.

I hate to say this but I am going to end up trialling Amazon Prime to see how the other side come out of it with a new format. I really don't want to see his smug/sex face but it is heading that way.

This latest TG was worse than the one before. Evans remains defiantly shouty........

Chris Harris came across as though he was trying too hard to be like Chris Evans and Jeremy, he needs to stick to being himself and deliver his reviews in his own way, which is what landed him the job in the first place.
I like Chris Evans, but I don't think he is right for Top Gear.
MLB is showing signs of potential, I dismissed him at first, but starting to warm to him, he just needs step away from the rigidity of scripts.

The key is to get the chemistry right between whoever presents the show, at the moment, there doesn't seem to be any.
James Martin or Jason Plato might work, maybe even Jay Kay, Charles Morgan or Jenson Button, all of which have been mentioned in the past. Each will bring with it their own personality but it depends on which direction the powers that be want to take the show and how they get on with their fellow presenters.

Sabine and EJ don't add anything to the show IMHO.

The bit that really grates with me is the way that Evans in middle age at 50 years old tries to dress like a pubescent 11 yearvold
