My name is John Progess, I am a retired engineer and my hobby is restoring British sports cars. I have three MGA's, a MGTF, a Triumph TR3A and a Austin Healey 3000. I am in the market for a Morgan +8. I have located a mid 90's +8 and I have a question. I noticed the method of attachment of the rear bumper looks ugly to say the least. Is there anything that can be done to clean up this attachment method? I look forward to hearing from Morgan owners and have a good day!

Welcome John, cant help you with your query but I'd be interested in your views on the Healey 3000, I have a chance to buy a BJ8 and am sorely tempted but it would mean selling my plus 4.

Steve,
I am surprised to read this. I have looked at Healeys and have found little to appeal compared to the Morgan. I would be very interested in what decision you come to.

Here for a good time not a long time!!

Reg I doubt I'll do it. The Morgan is such a nice car and owning one was always a dream from my youth. There are a few cars I have always hankered after and the Healey along with a Morgan are two of them. The big Healey just looks so right to me and a straight six is in my books better than a v8. Trouble is I have neither the space nor the funds to have several cars.
I'll be doing some Morgan miles this weekend with the Wild Mogs tomorrow and then Blenheim on Sunday so It'll put a smile on my face and I'll forget about changing it.!

I had a Healey 3000 for a short time, very overrated. Thought it was only a nice drive on the motorway .Sold it to a good friend of mine, he still got it 40 years on, and loves it. Different people different tastes.

Welcome from downunder.

Perhaps remove it and replace with over-riders?
