Morning all, yesterday, was a nice day for "Little Nellie", it was given some love mid afternoon, with oils etc. Test driving was kicking out time at the schools, and the young-uns, were quite taken back with comments at least twice "that’s sick man" (apparently sick means good), and "what's that" a couple of times, later that day, it was polished ready for taking a young man to his prom night, where upon arrival outside the 1920's pavilion at Wicksteed park, a 100 or so people gave us a round of applause on arrival. (I will get a photo if I can)

Next doors yound lad wanted a ride, so I had him put some safety specs on for a short and full of giggles run round for 5 mins, he was laughing so much.

Returned home and rang my girlfriend who lives 100 miles away in Wokingham, so packed the brolly on the back, put the outdoor cover in the foot-well with my bag, googles, map, etc, and set off south, through Onley, to the M1, where we were photographed twice at least.

Usual thumbs up, and a very pretty blonde lady going berserk waving. Onto the M25, it was giving smiles round there where for Friday traffic we kept up good speed, one chap on a motorbike came out of nowhere, to the side of me, and gave me a nod, and thumbs up before disappearing into the traffic.

It’s odd how many people think its old and slow, and pull up to the side, to see how fast we are going, which makes for fun when pressing in hard just how quickly the speed gains, leaving the spectators astonished, it reminded me of the film the fastest Indian where Burts being followed by the truck, and he gives it a handful, and the sounds much the same, the crackle as it takes off.

The M3 proved a little troublesome, with the sun shining on the aero screens and goggles, it was quite hard to see, so had to ease off for the few miles till the sun broke off to my right.

Anyhow we arrive windswept at Wokingham, where some excited children and adults await their turn round the block before letting Nellie tick herself cool, before bagging her for the night.

I think kids ignore most cars, even fancy fast cars. The Morgan is one that catches their imagination. We were asked recently by a little lad "Does it fly?"
Did you miss the turning for the M4? I used to live in Wokingham.
Thanks for sharing Justin

Haven't heard of Wicksteed's for years (I was born and went to secondary school in Kettering).

The car looks great.

Went for a pub meal today in Woburn, Beds, with Cecily, Max & Thumper. On the way back pulled in to the farm where I grew up. Much more manicured nowadays than when it was a proper farm (with 30 ****holes going through the gate four times a day). Very noticeable however, how unkept the farms were in general, and the surrounding countryside, compared to 40 years ago.

Had a fun afternoon on track at Goodwood with the GRRC, although the M3W was classified as a "single seater" so I went out on my own for each of my sessions.

I narrowly got through the 98dB soundcheck thanks to a lenient tester ( thumbs R1NGA for the redline tip!) They wouldn't tell me the actual reading simply said it was "a couple of dB over". Interestingly a Nissan GT-R which was measured at 90dB static was busting the drive by meters whereas I had no problems.

The MMC Stage 1 gave me about 10mph extra down the Lavant straight and the blockleys were very confidence inspiring in the corners.

100 mph into Fordwater and 110 at the end of the Lavant straight into Woodcote.

Timing not allowed but about a 1:55 lap.
