My first go at adding pictures so hope it works. Spotted this car at the Chateau Impney hillclimb on Saturday, no idea what is was (!), but I think Morgan were beaten to it!

Very interesting machine. Looks quite elegant.

Looks like it was designed by an early aircraft designer. Beautifully constructed.

I think John Bolster's 'Bloody Mary' had a wooden chassis, too. I didn't see the car you found, but it looks a lot more sophisticated than 'Mary', with a decent amount of room for the driver. Nowhere near as powerful though, that single cylinder will have its work cut out!

I photographed this 1908 GN Cycle Car at the Goodwood Members' Meeting. A wooden chassis supporting a 5 litre JAP aero engine:

It is road legal and the owner drove it to the event.

Love that car, Ian, very spectacular when racing, nearly always sideways around corners.

That is a beautiful bit of engineering whatever it's called.

Often seen at Shelsley.....hopefully this coming weekend!

I was told that it is not quite as old as it seems....cleverly patinated.

Are those frame rails really wood? Or are they steel with wood pattern contact paper?
