Is it just me or is this incredibly loud on the +8? Is there a separate fuse or would I need to short out the connection to stop it going off?

Doesn't it go off if you put the seat belt on?? Would put a smiley/laughing face on now but don't know how to!! Ian

It's when you are just jumping in to move the car either in or out of the garage and cannot be bothered to put on the seat belt. Obviously I always wear it when out on the road, but find the high pitched alarm when not belted up really irritating.

typical -- the motor trade does what it can to get people to wear their seat belts which is a proven safety aid and ..... whaddya know ... some clown comes up with a way to cancel it so he can drive without a belt on -- what an idiot!!!!!

You can buy a seatbelt plug from e bay that plugs into your belt and makes it think the belt is on, obviously I would not drive the car on the road with it in but to temporarily disable it for moving in and out of garage etc it would work, Ian
or go to a scrapyard and get the seatbelt plug from there, that would be cheaper, just cut the belt off.

The seat belt plug sounds ideal. I have absolutely no problem with my other cars as the warning sound is much less obtrusive, I just don't understand why the one in my +8 has to be so incredibly loud. Obviously I would not dream of driving on the road without fastening my seat belt, I value my life far too much to contemplate that!

My car does not have a belt warning bleep but it does have a lights on alarm. I inserted a timer module so it only bleeps for a few seconds.
Obviously you need to be able to get to the bleeper module to do that (it might be integrated into your dash electronics in which case it would be difficult)
Alternatively if you can locate the piezoelectric bleeper then you could also reduce it's volume with an inline resistor or just some tape over the bleeper.

Tarka (2014 Plus 8) has a warning light for the drivers seatbelt, no beeper or buzzer.
