Having just got back from a superb short holiday in France and enjoyed their wonderful hospitality I am appalled by what has happened in Nice.
My deepest sympathy to all.

Just read this , no idea what its about as we where out till the early hours of the m/ing ( ambulance to see mam ) . Turned TV text on insanity and religion are not to far apart.

One feels so powerless in the face of these barbaric attacks, yet one can one do ?
The only response possible is one of sympathy with the victims and their loved ones, and solidarity with France, with freedom, with with democracy.
I obviously don't blame the President, but I don't think that Hollande's rhetoric after the Bataclan atrocities and since has been helpful. Characterizing these outrages as a war, and talking the whole thing up as such is exactly what the perpetrators seek; publicity is their life-blood. They are murderers and criminals.
