I had a very pleasant 3 hour round trip to see Lord Jenks of Alder on Thursday. I am pretty sure it's the longest single trip I've taken in the 8. Roof off, sides off.

The comfortable cruise slot is 100, er kilometres an hour. It's very happy burbling at speed and I have no desire to go faster in it.

Interestingly the experience of other cars getting out of the way of a Lambo or Aston (for example) when you get up behind them on a dual carriageway, I've found to be the same in the 8.

To the Sammy Miller museum & back. A roads & M3, M27 down.
Zero traffic n Lyndhurst so we did't boil over at those traffic lights like last time.

A & B roads back. Great fun.

Drive over to Shelsley Walsh for the Shelsley Classic. Awesome Auto Union GrandPrix car driven up the hill by Hans Stuck Jnr. His father drove the same car up the hill in the 1930's. The sound of the 12 cylinder was something else!
A car that broke the class record today at around 24.6 seconds was a homebuild powered by 1.7 twincam, turbocharged. No turbo lag...the turbo was a helicopter auxiliary gas turbine!!

John,
I can't conceive of doing the hill in 24.6 s. Either mad or brave!

The closest I got to that yesterday was an early Delahaye chassis powered by a Franklin 6 pot air cooled aero engine from the same year...
Sadly no photos - owner moved it before I had a chance to get camera from car. Sounded good going up Prescott though listening grin2

A wonderful drive across Bucks as part of the Winslow Rotary Club Classic car run.

The official distance was 90 m we did it in 98 including a diversion after Kop Hill to Whiteleaf for a picnic.

Total drive there & back c 150 miles

Lovely run out in the sunshine today to Cars & Coffee at Rhos on Sea just along the North Wales coast near to Colwyn Bay. Organised by the Lotus 7 Club who were very friendly so I nice mix of Lotus 7s, Caterhams, 2 Sunbeam Alpine convertibles, a Noble, couple of Boxsters and I managed to round up an M3W, 2 4/4s and a Roadster came along too. Lovely on the the prom in the sunshine and the locals loved it.

This was a nice event to go along to and is held on the third Sunday of every month.
