There's not many that would disagree with that sentiment. I'm not averse to the idea of a citizen's pledge to uphold the laws of the land that must be sworn in order to obtain or renew a passport.

I think that understanding why individuals would want to live in a foreign country they hate may be the first step in understanding this form of terrorism.

But as said above, it's all wrapped up in trying to build a version of your own culture in a foreign land.

It also seems without doubt than aside from Western Europe, and North America, democracy elsewhere is fragile or unworkable.

Democracy works well for those who embrace it, but then those who resent the success of this system 'come over' and try to undermine it.
Interesting comment on the news review this morning that neither Royalty nor House of Lords are democratic, and so the UK is not fully democratic.

None of this can change without restricting borders and I don't think there's enough will to do that yet in Europe.

I don't know if it's just a view that these people feel they can come and live in our societies and believe that their culture and values have to be imposed on us as they're right and we're wrongs pit is a mission on their part to 'convert' their host country.

They'll have copied that from us then.

I think it's their declared aim Roger.
Ironic really that's what the christians did to every country a few hundred years ago.
