The Morgan is within a couple of hours from the night stay in South East Poland. and rejoin the Race. It is looking very good. Even though they had to pull the engine to fix a clutch problem and had a broken valve spring en route. Pure Magic and Skill and Determination.

They're in Budapest, only about 3 hours east of me. When I checked the route I learnt they will head SW to Slovenia and then skirt Austria to the south. It would have been nice to catch up with them but it's a long drive to Ljubljana so I will continue to follow the blog.

They made it. An inspiring trip conducted in the true spirit of vintage motoring. For those who haven't read the final blog here is a quote which, I like to think, sums up the spirit of their adventure.
"This is perhaps a time for contemplation. We realise that this has been a journey on many different levels. Travelling from east to west has shown us how different but still how similar we are. We might not understand all our cultural differences but we have experienced that in many respects we have a lot in common. Most of us are all kind, helpful people being separated by politics and religion. Seeing quaint old cars obviously brings out the best in people and we can honestly say that we have not met an unfriendly face."

What an amazing achievement and what a lovely reflection on their experience of the people around the world they came across. Sums it up really, views on nations are often distorted through politics and media.
