....... and another welcome from Kent ( also another welcome from Folkestone !) the Breakfast meetings at BHM are well worth attending. My 7 year old son enjoys them as well and we usually end up buying a new car - a very small model one that is ! Hopmog trips are also great with a very warm welcome extended to newcomers - we just need to get to more of them. Good luck with the search and all there is to know is available on this site.

Best regards,

John

Hi Rylan
Just caught up with this conversation. I would like to offer another warm welcome from another Kent based (Benenden) Morgan owner. You will find many twists and turns in the conversations, so don't be put off. I nearly was, but then discovered a very knowledgeable (and humorous) crowd of enthusiasts.
I have visited BHM several times and soundly agree with all said in earlier posts. Still looking forward to the famous breakfast club meet. Should make it on Sept 3.

There are now three seat designs - non recline, sports recliners and sports seats, which are the latest incarnation, recognisable with stitching which crosses the seat rather than goes vertically down the seat with rectangular panels.

It also makes a difference if there are wooden runners under the seats. Standard spec now is no spacers. In 2005 as far as I can tell there were thick tapered spacers. Some owners add their own. With the current deeper dash, it doesn't take much spacer thickness to put your thighs close to the steering wheel, and this makes it much harder to get in and out.

I meant to add, not only are the models different in feel but cars of the same model can vary. For instances I have driven one Roadster S2 that just did not drive and feel right but the next felt great. So it can be difficult, my conclusion was that it depends on use and care of the car, I found mine got better through use, sitting about IM does not do them a lot of good in the long term. Things go hard a sticky!

Well my experience has certainly been positive so far, certainly refreshing to find a group of helpful owners who are willing to provide advice and knowledge without adding negative comments and opinions etc.

Thanks Dave for the seat information, that would certainly account for the difference, even though there was only 3 years between the cars they felt completely different, with the 2012 car feeling 'tighter' than the 2009 model, which gave me more confidence in it.

I am planning to attend the Hopmog meet next Tuesday, all car clubs are struggling to attract younger members, but I think you guys are certainly on the right track from my perspective!

Rylan

Best regards,

We're just putting the 2017 calendar of events together John - so any suggestions would be most welcome.

Welcome from Wales.
Your Morgan will find you. Spaniels also help select a car in one dealer too!
As for seats.....I had wooden spacers in mine. I removed the driver side ones but left the passenger ones in on orders from swmbo it is a personal preference tweek.
You get that with Morgans. You see and hear about what people have done and find things you like.
Go to dealers for test drives and talk to them for advice.
Go to Hopmog meets and noggins.
