Hi all! Got into my plus 8 on Friday evening to drive down to TOTH and wouldn't start! Never failed to start first time in all the years I've owned it. 1995 3.9 EFI, battery strong, turns over fine but won't fire. Ignition light etc. not lit just the yellow battery symbol light. Cause probably quite simple but before I dig out all the meters etc and start crawling under the dash I though I'd ask the experts on here. Any advice appreciated!

Immobilizer? Battery in key fob??

Could be various things , can you smell petrol ie is petrol getting to the injectors , can you hear the fuel pump ? In this case it will either be a duff fuel pump if you've never had one go or the fuel relay (I had this two weeks ago) or even the 30amp fuse to the fuel pump.

After checking the basics, check the ignition control unit. I had a similar problem and this was at fault. Easy way to check is to get a spare plus, pull a lead, connect the spare plug and earth. Then get someone to crank the engine and if theres no spark, its likely to be this unit.

YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO HEAR THE PUMP: I puzzled over this for three weeks until I changed the relays on the firewall. Instant start afterwards.
