I have a 1983 4/4 and am in the process of replacing the wooden dashboard with the original one, just a few problems, on the fuse box which capacity fuse goes where?.(My fuse box is the small Lucas one). Are there any recommendation on how to put an extra fuse box for all the accessories, should I take the live feed from the battery?, or from the original fuse box, what amp wire should I use?, any help would be most appreciated. Got to get it screwed back before MOG16 or I will be screwed!!!
These are still available (eBay etc.) BUT do NOT buy Lucas 39824 as this does not connect two of the pins on one side. You need Lucas 7FJ which connects pins 5 and 7 (splits the input).
Early CVH? Is the starter on the nearside, together with relay/solenoid on the bulkhead? If so, is there a reasonably thick brown wire leading from it, through the bulkhead and back out to the fusebox just ahead of the toolbox on the offside? If so, is there any fuse / breaker before that wire goes in behind the bulkhead? If not, I recommend a fuse is added. I can post a photo from my X-Flow where I added one (there was a good reason for its addition after I had to do a partial rewire!).

Hi Richard, I fitted the holder with a 30A fusible link. The holder is to the left of the Starter relay/solenoid. It provides overall protection for most of the cars electrics (and that cable look that runs under the dash!
I will add photos of the additional fuse box - Morgans (like most cars built back then) were not good at protecting the electrics...
