When was a trolley dolly, one way the crew would get back at drunk & objectionable passengers was for the captain to call ahead to Customs to report that a particular passenger was behaving bizarrely, maybe under the influence of drugs. As the offender stepped off the plane, a customs officer would be there, snapping on the latex gloves.....

Where will it stop - as a sweeping general statement (alert!) its the budget airlines where drinks are sold that have the biggest issue. Cabin crew commission may be a driver here too.......
....Nobody in a bad way should be allowed to board (as now) so I see little point in this new nonsense.
Any other year this, we should remember is the "silly season".

It's a combination from my observations.
They buy duty free and then drink it before the flight. They buy (not so) cheap beer early in the day (cheap holiday flights operate at odd hours) when it hits them harder having not had breakfast etc)
I think the combination of staff restricting sale to clearly drunk people. Airport security being able to reject flight to drunk people and duty free being delivered to the gate would help. Oh and being able to ban people from future flight if they breach the rule.
Golly I am having an evil morning.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

No doubt Tariq Mahmood Ahmad, Baron Ahmad of Wimbledon, and ex Vice-President of AMYA British Muslim youth organisation, does not enjoy a quite ale before taking a flight. Depends if he was busy texting whilst driving to get there.

44 years of working for a major scheduled airline ( drinks are free ) I saw more dead people on flights than 'out of control' drunk people. As most aircraft meals are now halal you need something to wash it down... Don't you?

And naturally during Ramadan I won't be able to eat or drink anything during daylight hours so as not to offend anyone. It would make a morning trans Atlantic flight to the US a very long and boring day.

Well, it's not just halal food. The entertainment system looks at the flight number and adjusts the content so as not to offend too. Booze sales at airports is just a headline. Sober and bored..

I didn't mention that bit, as I didn't want to be accused of being racist. So it's out with european law and in with sharia law then.
