Lovely run out this morning with Mintymog to Holdens at Bromyard. A guy jumps out, "I'm a Morgan owner", lovely bloke. Got talking as you do. He is from Liverpool, buying headgear and goggles for hiself. He has met Roger Cheshire at Cholmodeley and Graham at Trill on the Hill. He watches Talk Morgan and hopefully he will introduce himself soon, as ScouseJohn, especially with the increasing activity with the guys in the Liverpool area and the North East. Ahh funny! Yes that would be John with his lovely Roadster 100! We dragged him along as part of our 7 Mog squadron to Cars & Coffee in Liverpool too last month. Just trying to get him to 'come out of the closet'!

Ahem......buying anything for our forthcoming trip Ian? I popped up there yesterday after work to get some new gloves! Ermm, it's hardly Wild Mogs when half of the group spend their pocket money on shiny things and silk underwear, is it..? You might get more than you bargained for in that room!

Had a trip over to Richard Thorne's this morning to buy a badge bar clip, now that I have a TM badge!
Treated the wife to a trip to a fish n chip shop a few miles from where we live. Even she said, "fish n chip's sat in a Morgan, you can't get much more British than that"!!!

A great run from Ennis to Rosslare on the incredibly empty and well surfaced main roads of Ireland.... We drove from Rosslare to Ennis, spent 4 days there and experienced some of the "Wild Atlantic Way". Only 1 day of rain in 5 days, but quite a lot of cloud....
Met up with Robbie of this place, plus Will, and their wives, for a wonderful evening at a restaurant near the port. The last day of a delightful 5 day interlude: photos to follow.
The stories about the poor stare of Irish roads are exaggerated: the main "N" roads are superb, better than most A roads in the UK. The regional "R" roads vary, some as good as the Ns, others poor but no potholes, just rough. Likewise the local "L" roads, even if there is a foot of grass in the centre the tarmac is in good condition each side: generally better than the unclassified roads of Wiltshire!
But in the towns the roads can be terrible, rough and patched with manholes that can be proud or recessed. Slow speed is essential...perhaps that is the plan!
Most of the N roads allow easy overtaking, so I frightened a few drivers by overtaking at the normal Plus 8 rate and sound level....!!
The Plus 8 attracted a lot of positive attention: I understand there is only one Plus 8 in Ireland...so rather rare!
If you enjoy driving on good, empty roads get over to Ireland!

Took the Morgan to Basildon Park today, then picked my son up from work experience in Oxford. Wonderful weather.

Took the Morgan in to work at the factory today, sidescreens off enjoying the good weather. Took a couple of Italian youngsters who were on my tour, out for a quick spin in the MTW.....they were rather hooked!
A bonus.....met Lightsphere who was over with his rather lovely daughter, from Ireland. Good to put a face to another TMer!

Great to meet Peter J and his wife Caroline last night. The Tarka is stunning!! A similar beast will have to remain a dream unless the lotto comes up as, over here, the cost is eyewatering due to the 36% registration tax -- even after the ar*e has fallen out of sterling!!!!!
Cheers!

Great mountain road just to the North-West of Genoa which is in the background. Great area to drive a Mog. Are you going to tour the Riviera or up the mountain roads torwards CH or France? Whatever you do - you can't do wrong in that part of Europe regarding driving in great scenery.
