Don't know exactly, but guessing about 60%. I do know that on a road trip when it hits 0%, I have about 2 gallons remaining.

My 280mm sender reads a bit erratically but generally gets towards indicating 0% after about 200 miles from filling. In that sense, I wouldn't say that the 280mm sender is any more or less accurate than the original 250mm unit, it just shows 0% with a more realistic reserve, rather than half a tank as the original one did. If yours is showing % numbers all over the place it must be down to a faulty sender or possibly a chaffed wire or bad contact, not easy to find. Does it behave the same with the old 250mm sender refitted?

My 280 sender became erratic and further inspection found that one of the two wires that the float reads accross had broken loose from the top of the unit.

Just went out, removed my sender, cleaned and tightened the contacts, and reinstalled. I'll report back after a drive. Pretty sure I tossed my OG sender. 😬

When I turned the key she had 36 miles on the trip odometer and the newly reinstalled sender read 100%. When I got back she was up to 52 miles and reading 84%. Now to see if she maintains her accuracy. I assume she's very ground sensitive.

All that crud being thrown up onto the sender connections can't be improving things.

In 5+ months and 3,600+ miles, she's yet to feel a raindrop.

Been off talk morgan for the last year. looking forward to going to m3w treffen. Have read this particular thread with interest. Adding the 280mm sender does not improve the fuel read out situation at all. the short and long sender both show zero fuel with the same level in the tank. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-...egular-one.htmlI advise people not to buy it.
