Hell, Zack, me and the boys were just starting to get concerned about you ... any longer and we were going to send the dogs out after you ... As for the wee beastie, they do get under your skin, don't they ... Looking forward to the next chapter Tally Ho !

... In that short period of time, have already uncovered 4 or 5 hand grenades with the pins half pulled (chaffing wiring, chaffing lines, etc.) confirming my un-easiness about the car. ... Would love to see a list - as would most other M3W owners I suspect!

Down far enough. No end-play in the crank. Polished the machining tracks out of the Centa "basket" with a Scotchbrite wheel. Chucked it up in a lathe...all appears to run true and is balanced already. Cush-drive behind the compensator was still in good shape...not that it matters now. Opened up the compensator "container"...and it let out a stench that stunk up my whole shop. Six hours later, it still smells like burnt sulphur mixed with burnt wiring harness. It was completely full of grease and no sign of any escaping the container. If grease had been the answer, I wouldn't have had the compensator banging. Wasn't impressed at all with the compensator. Maybe adequate for a lighter bike but appears to be entirely too much play in the unloaded position for a heavier vehicle. The "ramps" of the compensator appear to be "burnished" and not a good finish anymore for mating parts. From the unloaded position, the ramps seem too gradual going from unloaded to loaded. The ramps or scallops of the mating parts are different from one side to the other adding to slack in the unloaded position. I can see why it sounded like someone in the bell housing with a big hammer when the engine wasn't under load. Based on findings so far and the more I look at the Centa, the more I like it. On the bright side, the clutch plate still looks new, no scorching of the pressure plate and the slave cylinder is still dry. Admittedly, the clutch got cycled in and out more in this application than a "normal" vehicle trying to offset the issues with the compensator but slipping wasn't part of that process. At low speeds, the clutch was disengaged more than it was engaged to keep the hammering of the compensator at bay. The decent condition of the clutch components is only to be expected on such a low mileage vehicle but I guess I've been conditioned to only expect the worst as it pertains to the M3W. I've cleaned components, chased old tapped holes to remove existing thread lock, chased all new tapped holes just to confirm. Will remove stator in the morning to replace the seal for new Centa diameter, do a little work in the press and should start back together with it shortly there after. My biggest concern was the thought of having to order more parts from Morgan leaving parts scattered all over my shop for months on end but it appears I have dodged that bullet along with its extended waiting times. ... any longer and we were going to send the dogs out after you ... You should have sent them! They would have gotten marinated and then slow roasted at a low temperature! I was busy building a "man cave" in my "man cave". I've bought me a "camp" out in the country on a big piece of property and after putting the "man" spin on the camp, I've since added two rooms for casting bullets, reloading and guitars. So now the theme is fun...which includes grilled and smoked meat, cookouts & gatherings, a full bar, a shooting range, motorcycles, a fleet of property maintenance equipment, guitars, cigars, etc. I've got three slots with cement pads for my travel trailers to store them and use as guest houses. I sit on the front deck in the morning in my drawers drinking coffee, watching the sun come up and watching the wildlife migrate across the property. My objective is to have the property as nice as any state park. When I drive my M3W to the camp, I put the tonneau cover on for fear the raccoon may eat my upholstery during the night. Being a redneck has it's perks. Z

They would have gotten marinated and then slow roasted at a low temperature! Poor use of a good bloodhound ... Around here we send them out to find somebody that is lost and return with them to camp Different country, I guess Helluva man cave though ...

Old shaft and bearing pressed out and new/different ones pressed in. And from three lumps back to one. Easier to understand the unique contouring of the Centa "basket" now... Rocking the starter ring back and forth, the Centa feels damn good to me. Drained tranny...grease looked brand new. The return trip back in isn't as bad after learning the tricks to getting it out. The starter is a load of fun. Dreaded rack back in... Driveshaft stabbed and enough for today. Going to get everything double checked, take it for a test drive and then, change the bevel box. Trying to determine incremental improvements, if any. Z
