Having just received our supersports junior pedal car I thought that I would share some information that I have so far gleaned mainly from the ever helpful Mark B. I think as far as MMC are concerned it is fair to say that it is early days with the pedal car and certain logistical considerations have yet to be fully worked out.
1. Despite the claim that it is lightweight it is a bulky item. It won't easily fit into an estate car (A6) or SUV (ML) and may be a tight squeeze even for a Discovery.
2. I used Steve King at Triple C Transport as I was concerned that I would arrive at the factory from Scotland and not be able to fit it into my car. It fitted into his trailer transversely behind a 4 seater trad which was going further north to RPM in Perth which reduced the cost considerably. He was superb - website on
Triple C Transport 3. It is slightly longer (2030mm) than quoted in the brochure (2000mm)
4. There is no instruction manual (yet). The handbrake is on the n/s of the seat and is on when in recess. The lever in the middle controls the gears apparently. There is a toggle switch on o/s of dash which controls lights. The seat moves by loosening a lever on o/s of seat. Will be more authoritative once it has been test driven on Christmas Day.
5. The lights are powered by a rechargeable battery. Which brings me to the following:
6. The car doesn't come with a battery charger! I've just ordered a Banner unit from MMC. Apparently the cable on this splits to allow crocodile clips, ringlets or cigarette lighter adapter to be used for the full size Morgan's. The connector at the split apparently directly connects to the pedal car.
7. Finally the pedal car is despite the above rather lovely.
Hope this helps.
Kind Regards,
Robert
