Having just received our supersports junior pedal car I thought that I would share some information that I have so far gleaned mainly from the ever helpful Mark B. I think as far as MMC are concerned it is fair to say that it is early days with the pedal car and certain logistical considerations have yet to be fully worked out.

1. Despite the claim that it is lightweight it is a bulky item. It won't easily fit into an estate car (A6) or SUV (ML) and may be a tight squeeze even for a Discovery.

2. I used Steve King at Triple C Transport as I was concerned that I would arrive at the factory from Scotland and not be able to fit it into my car. It fitted into his trailer transversely behind a 4 seater trad which was going further north to RPM in Perth which reduced the cost considerably. He was superb - website on Triple C Transport

3. It is slightly longer (2030mm) than quoted in the brochure (2000mm)

4. There is no instruction manual (yet). The handbrake is on the n/s of the seat and is on when in recess. The lever in the middle controls the gears apparently. There is a toggle switch on o/s of dash which controls lights. The seat moves by loosening a lever on o/s of seat. Will be more authoritative once it has been test driven on Christmas Day.

5. The lights are powered by a rechargeable battery. Which brings me to the following:

6. The car doesn't come with a battery charger! I've just ordered a Banner unit from MMC. Apparently the cable on this splits to allow crocodile clips, ringlets or cigarette lighter adapter to be used for the full size Morgan's. The connector at the split apparently directly connects to the pedal car.

7. Finally the pedal car is despite the above rather lovely.

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

Robert

Come on Robert don't pretend you didn't go for a little pedal around the garden. I Know I would have

I'm sure some young ladies are going to be very happy on Christmas day :santa3:

Now you will advise your daughters that in true TM tradition we are all awaiting the full first test drive report, and of course we expect to plenty of camera as is always required of all new owners :snowlaugh:

Have to say that I was tempted to have a test run myself but was terrified to do so in case I broke it!!

However have to admit that it's been polished with Zymol today in preparation for the big day.

The girls are going to be thrilled with the car.

Merry Christmas!

Nice one Robert!
Almost tempted for some of my other half's grandchildren - but the poor car would probably end up a wreck in a week... scared

We have unfortunately had a bit of a technical problem with our pedal car.

It won't move an inch unless pushed and it turns out that the rear wheel fouls the inside of the bodywork at the rear when any load is applied (even a light weight child sitting in car).

If anyone else has taken delivery of one and has had a problem could you please PM me?

Merry Christmas,

Robert

Sorry to hear of the problem Robert, though I suppose that being a Mog there is the inevitable small amount of fettling necessary before it is perfect. I hope it is soon sorted and that your girls get to enjoy them.

Merry Christmas :xmascheers:

Thanks for the Christmas wishes and your note Brian.

I think that you have hit the nail on the head as far as the root cause of the problem. It's unusable at present but hopefully once the factory reopen it will get sorted quickly.

Merry Christmas!

Happy Christmas Stephen!

I think that you are spot on with your quote - customer prototype sums it up nicely. gloomy

Will see what I can do as regards pictures.

Hope that you have a happy, healthy and prosperous 2010.

Kindest Regards,

Robert
