I have a 1957 Plus 4 and wondering if anyone has installed a quick steering wheel removal hub?

My M3W came stock with this hub. I highly recommend getting one for your car. As they say "no wheel, no steal."

These are standard on M3W I think and available for trads from Aero Racing.
The splines on the column are different in that they have a locator so you would probably end up having to make a modified steering column. Easier to fit a smaller wheel maybe?

Question is why do you want to remove the steering wheel?

Getting in and out?

I had one fitted to a '59 Aston I had - my corpulent physique couldn't make it in out without it. smile

I had one on my Lotus and it made entry and egress much easier and it was also a great theft deterrent grin2

Most of the kits I've seen require an adaptor to be welded to the steering shaft. The boss then clips onto the adaptor

The trouble on an early Morgan with the long steering column is that it might prevent you dismantling the steering column for overhaul.

Its also a job that requires an experienced welder to attempt - I've just turned down such job on Proton Satria rally car!

As Taffmog suggests, a smaller steering wheel is possibly the way forward!

The German Morgan Dealer Morganpark sales his own steering wheel. These steerings wheel are a bit flat at the bottom (minus 10-12mm) which is not really visible. Maybe this could be an alternative to a new hub and be less complicated.

Maybe they can provide some information in English if you contact them by mail.
