Tell the truth we did have car problems yesterday.

It was the Ferraris not getting out of the way and slowing our progress evil

Would it be very obvious if the backplate went? gave dampers a good tug and nowt obvious.

Mark as I was getting my car ready for a tour I was going to grease the rear springs. I tested the U bolts they were rock solid so maybe that is your issue.

I do notice not having anti tramp bars the springs really tramping up under hard acceleration when loaded.
Also could it be the tool tray & items banging around?

Looks like the u bolts could well have been the issue 6 of the 8 nuts took a few turns on the swann neck ring spanner, not sure how tight they are supposed to be but seem to have quietened things down no more knock on lift off on my journey to work this afternoon. Maybe jacking up has relocated something though? Drained cup of water out of drivers front indicator and scrubbed the rust off the holder. Hopefully mog will be quiet tonight on the journey home too.

U bolts will tighten until they shear, because they streeeetch.

The size changed after 2005. 'Off the top' from 7/16 diam to half inch, but I might be 1/16 too big, so..... Could have been 3/8 to 7/16ths.

Nice drive home tonight under a star lit sky on empty roads.

Once it started that is! I had to whack the starter again - I think an alternative maybe on the cards when I save some pennies!

I"ve done quite a bit of driving in my head the last few days and quite a bit of walking into the barn to look at the morgan shaped space there. Mogless for the second time in thirty two years. Sigh.

It took me four weeks from selling my MGB V8 in July 2008 to buying my Roadster at the end of August. Having an empty garage was so traumatic that I don't really remember what it was like.

MrsW was quite taken aback at how fast things moved in those four weeks.

I am sure you will find the right car. Whilst I am off for a spin to test the adjusted handbrake

This evening I had a business dinner and parked my Moggi in front of the restaurant. Weather was nice, so I just put the tonneau in place. Ten minutes later heavy rain came down totally unexpected. We got 23 liters per square meters in about 30 minutes.

No chance to get the storm Cover out of the car so I only was hoping that things will not get too bad.

After dinner the rain had stopped, I released the tonneau and not one drop of water was inside the car.

This was my Wow-effect for today. drive
