Good point - have the M3W's been reliable in general? Some 30+ on a big tour like this must have flushed out some unforeseen gremlins maybe?!

How many M3Ws were there in all? Correct me if I'm wrong guys but I think it was 33 in total, with 31 today. Two were trailered away, one for an oil leak and one for loss of oil pressure. 2 out of 33 or 6%. That's 6% per a single trip, not per year. Ouch!

A big "Thank You" to Laurens and Rineke for organizing this breathtaking event!
We enjoyed very much being part of this wonderful group of individualists.
Although the yellow motor control light was nearly constantly on our M3W did not miss a beat and brought us back savely to Salzburg, dry and ahead of the rainclouds that followed us in permanence from behind the Eiger Mountain.

Back home to Bergerac (area). Having attended Grindelwald for the last three years it just get's better and better, not only in the number and variety of cars, but the friendliness of the group. Laurens & Rineke's hard work in planning delivered spectacular routes and restaurants. Even with 30+ cars we stayed together most of the time and other drivers cleared roads to behold the sight of such a significant squadron. Yes there were a couple of mechanical issues but the support team from ABT Automobile & the guys from AVUS AUTO sorted things out.
I'm booked for 2017! It's the highlight of the motoring year.

But don't forget the event is 3 days with between 120 - 180 miles per day per car plus the hundreds or thousands of miles driven there and back. I think it's a pretty good endorsement of how useable the M3W has become. The superb support from Abt is a huge plus giving peace of mind if a problem does occur. I was one of those they helped and will post more detail when I'm back in the uk.

Laurens and Rineka Many thanks for organising a great event, the weather was not bad either. Back home now after a 1900 mile round trip. Hope to see you next year when I imagine there will be even more 3 wheelers. Roger

The oil leak was somewhat self inflicted, the engine bottomed out on a rough single track road and I believe damaged the casting the oil filter screws into.
