Stunning pictures. I just moved mine out of the garage for some fettling.
John thanks and fettling has to be the beginning of something.
Yesterday we eschewed the main route for the western coastal route from L'Ille-Rousse to Ajaccio. Only 142 km but 4 hours of curves, climbs, descents and jaw-dropping scenery. Later The Navigator commented "I was ok for the first 2 hours." Drivers (moi?) sometimes forget the discomfort of the passenger as we have the wheel to brace with. I wasn't going quickly but the cornering was relentless and our old mog has seats which provide no lateral support. It was a ball for me but my was asking "when will be there?"
The trip would have been faster except for an impasse in the most beautiful part, Piana Parc National, when a combination of sightseers parked in the passing bays and two huge coaches, plus tourists towing caravans brought the whole show to a steaming halt for about 40 minutes.
Now in an apartment overlooking the harbour at Ajaccio while watching storms build on the mountains. Bliss. Oh and I've now caught up on the wildmogging thread. Brilliant adventure.
The pic is one of the high passes before descending to Porto. No not that Porto.
250 mile run to Crooklands for Morgans at Windermere. Nice run through mid Wales as far as Wrexham then onto Motorways. Tomorrow will be a day of pisssistant rain so no plans made for a run yet. Sunday? Wait and see re weather. Monday return home via Bolton to see friends.
Think I passed you going in the opposite direction on the M6 around Preston
Saw four Mogs on the M6 going down to Coventy today which I assume were all going up to Windermere
Red plus8 with roof on? We passed that area sometime around 14.00 ish. Traffic on M6 was heavy due to Blackpool lights turning on? Had a relaxing pint on arrival after returning the "doorstop" to Andrew Hirst ( Taffmog won the most attendees last year). Very nice dinner in No17 in Milnthorpe. Saturday was a rainy 150 mile tour via Wasswater, back roads to Lodore Hotel on Derwent Water for late light lunch ( very nice hotel). Returned to Crooklands via yet more narrow back roads. Cars were filthy due to rain/spray. Sunday run to Castle Green hotel for coffee stop. Back roads to Inn on the Lake on Ullswater for light lunch, yet more back roads and cross country back to Crooklands. Hoods down as weather was great. Returned home Monday with diversion to Bolton to visit friends. Nice run through mid Wales after Wrexham. Looking forward to next year already! Today we took the dogs to Oxwich Bay on Gower. Great weather, dogs had a good swim. Light lunch in Oxwich Bay hotel then nice run home over Cefn Bryn.
Nice sunny drive to New Quay in west Wales, to see an old friend from our young rally days. Lunch in the Black Lion, out side table overlookig the sea. Then met some of the wifes doggy friends down on holiday from yorkshire. Lovely day out, and a nice warm drive home,....Untill the indicaters refused to work in Carmathen. Never mind something to look at tomorrow.
.+8 Now gone for a 1800 4/4. Duratec in bright yellow.
In answer to the above NO. On my back with a slipped disc looking at the blue sky thinking of all the drives I could be doing. Just to rub it in my car tax renewal arrived this morning.

Had a great day out yesterday with a Hopmog visit to Quex House and Gardens (http://www.quexpark.co.uk) - home to the Powell Cotton Museum - near Margate. We enjoyed privileged parking right in front of the house. A fascinating place, although it has to be said the exhibits are not to everyone's taste.
Spent the morning exploring the craft village, garden centre and food barn. After an excellent lunch we toured the museum, house and extensive landscape gardens.
Another TM member turned up in the Porker you can just make out lurking under the trees as his Mog was sick with a broken exhaust. Pity really as it was a perfect day for top-down motoring as can be seen by the clear, blue sky!!

Back to the vinyards. This time we enjoy southern Styria at the Slovenian/Austrian border region. We drove a small road for some kilometers whehere the right side tires run in Slovenia and the left side ones run in Austria. Excellent wines and food! The scenery is quite similar to Tuscany.

MOT day today, so drove the 4/4 to the gym which is on an industrial estate with an MOT place next door. Despite showing the tester how to release the bonnet catches, he greeted me later very red-faced with one sheared off in his hand.
MOT issued and discount duly negotiated, I dashed off to BHM where the ever-helpful Phil relieved me of £13 for a new knob. So I made a £2 profit on the day and got to do a bit of garage pottering. Off for another drive after supper to try to find the source of a new (folded) hood mechanism rattle.

Week started off wet and finished wet back and forth to work with some dry stuff in the middle.
Rains stopped just as I finish work this afternoon, so I had bemused looks as I put the roof down and left work, threatening skies - but dry all the way home.
Lit the rears up at one damp T junction, making an interesting get away.
Great fun.
