I know oil leaks have been discussed many times on TM, i have a 2015(May) done 3000 miles, i have now had it in twice for oil leaks coming out of the front cover, after a good run i can put it away and put a drip tray underneath and it will drop a small amount of oil, after the initial drip, it will not drop any more until it is run again, however you can always find some oil just rubbing your hand under the bottom of the cover. I would like to hear what other owners experiences are regarding leaks, are there any which are bone dry? Or is it something i will just have to live with?

2012 w/ over 29,000 miles. bone dry
What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

Similar leak on mine discovered after a few hundred miles from new. Dealer identified two of the three cam seals weeping and MMC sent them complete pre-assembled camshaft, support plate and timing set. Dealer fitted under warranty and bone dry since with 3200 miles now on the clock

Maybe you all need to put some oil in then! Yup the mantra goes if oil is leaking - good it shows you have some and the time to worry is when it stops!

2015 M3W built March, 2015 with 4200 miles. I have had a leak off and on practically since new. Appears to be coming from the oil feed line to the crankcase. Always have alittle oil on bottom of cam cover and front bottom crankcase. Few drops on garage floor. Had the cam cover off once. Leak didn't seem to be coming from cams. There was a period of time it wasn't leaking. Started up again though. Visited one of local S&S master mechanics for another reason and he didn't seem to be concerned with it. I guess as long as it doesn't cause some type of future failure I'm not going to worry about it.

I don't have any yet on my 2014, but assume there will be some weeping at some point, having run unusual machinery for a lot of years. Also, it will take a lot of leaking to get my attention, as my Piper Cub would puke a quart of 30 weight out in about 2 hours, covering the entire bottom of the fuselage with oil. Had to wipe it down with spirits after nearly every flight. Then there was the time I was driving up Vail Pass in a snowstorm in my milk truck camper,2nd gear, the motor (a '49 Chev) was using oil so fast I just left the dog house cover off leaving the motor exposed, and I would add 2 quarts when I heard the rods starting to knock. It's the truth!
