My Fairbourne screen is made from Lexan, according to this its conditionally resistant to petroluem & resistant to benzine & ethyl alcohol. http://www.eplastics.com/Plastic/plastic...-Polycarbonate. Tim

Went out with my M3W, on the way back I got the fueltube leaking in the front which sprayed fuel on the driver windshield. It took only 30 seconds for the windshield to be completely crackeled ...so I will need replacement screen. The Fairbourne GTS screen would be an option ...does anybody know if the Fairbourne is more fuelresistant than the Morgan factory one? If not, I would stay on the original ones as it becomes less expensive to replace only the brocken one....otherwise having a fuelresistant one would be a nice upgrade in case an other leaking came up... Sorry to hear that. I too have a standard Fairbourne screen though, and understand it to be made of Lexan. On my boat I have a Lexan fuel filter bowl and tank sight glass so would tend to confirm TimG's comments. BTW if you prefer to stick with originals I have a pair of totally unused ones available for half factory price.

Thanks Tim & Richard for the quick reply, that good news... I havent seen the GTS screen on the Fairbourne website so I guess that I give them a call to order one....hope they export to Luxembourg. @Richard, nice offer, will keep that in mind but I probably go for the Fairbourne screen.
Cheers, Georges

Georges the GTS screen is about 50mm lower & a bit narrower than the GT screen.

I have seen a Fairbourne screen suffer the same problem, so I guess the material is the same. Polycarbonate I seem to recall from the wrapper on mine.

The current Fairbourne screens are made from Lexan Marguard Polycarbonate I believe. This is a chemical resistant material and is also scratch resistan. My current Fairbourne screen is made from this and is very good. My original, early, Fairbourne screen was made form something else, not so scratch or probably chemical resistant and was replaced FOC. I think the Fairbourne screen is one of the better things you can do to a standard M3W to make it more usable.
