So, Farewell Then. Morgan Four Seater.
Most Noble of Passenger Cars.
Longer, than a Two Seater and twice the fun.
Unless, you have teenagers in the back.
Then, it's a bloody nightmare and weighs a ton.

So, Farewell Then. Morgan Four Seater
Most Noble and Sporting of Passenger Cars.
Killed by The EU.
Too early for Brexit
No ISOFIX No airbags
But, it does have a hood that's a bugger to fit

Not bad, but IMHO any EJ Thribb verse should include some allusion to Keith or to his mum.
So, farewell then Morgan four seater.
You were a bit bigger than the two seaters,
but still quite pretty. (like Keith's mum).
Now you are no more. (also like Keith's mum).

Ah, EJ Thribb, threnodist extraordinaire. Here's my effort, a mere parodic shadow of the great obituarist's works:
So, farewell then Morgan four seater.
Four wheels, four Cylinders, four seats. That was your thing.
You had a voluminous rear And a fruity exhaust (like Keith's mum).
But leaked a bit (also like Keith's mum).

Amazing! I know that Barry Fantoni retired to France, now I know who his successor is!
Top stuff.
<Pedant Mode=On> But aren't they Monodies rather than Threnodies? </Pedant>

<Pedant Mode=On> But aren't they Monodies rather than Threnodies? </Pedant> Both, I think. A monody was originally any verse spoken by a single voice (rather than a chorus) in Greek drama, but has come to mean a piece of poetry specifically mourning the death of an individual. Threnody ("wailing ode") is more generally a hymn or poem of mourning. Most monodies are also threnodies, but not necessarily vice versa. Far be it from me to play the arch-pedant, but since what is being mourned is the era of the four-seater (though Thribb in all his guises above uses synechdoche to reduce this to an individual car) then threnody is probably more appropriate in this instance But then again, I'm a mere engineering grad rather than any kind of Eng Lit person, so I might have that very wrong...
