This could be an interesting topic for a poll, I think there are loads of Morgan owners who also have a Landy - especially if you include Hippos, Discos, and Rangies along with Series and Defenders.

There's at least one Morgan owner out there with a 109 and a Pink Panther as well, but he's not on TM

Ive owned Plenty, in fact until recently they were the only cars i'd owned (series and defenders).
That said I'll never be owning another defender as the pleasure of ownership had well and truly gone by the end and got silly. In fact cant see myself buying another land rover product.

My next 4x4 will be a choice of a G wagen again or just a cheaper Hilux or Nissan Patrol for my use.

I can understand people going for their first Defender - its a sort of right of passage like a sailor buying a Seagull outboard motor. What I cant understand, having had a series 3 SWB diesel, is why anyone would ever buy a second one.

And if anyone still wants a Seagull outboard I have one in the shed going cheap.

I am currently driving a Discovery 4 - which suits me perfectly as both a motorway mile muncher and a car capable of towing 3T with ease.

If we still have the horses when it comes due for change (by which time I WILL be re****d), I shall buy the most disreputable looking Defender 90 I can find. That way I shall always be let out at junctions by the simple expedient of crawling slowly out into the line of traffic and not caring if they stop. I shall also be able to park it in modern car parks and not care if the rep-mobile next to me slams his door into its flanks.

I will of course need a drip tray the length of the vehicle - if it isn't leaking oil it means there isn't any left!

Post Series 3 Land Rovers improved a lot Howard.
When all is said and done, they are still agricultural implements, which is why I fail to understand the blinged up things like the "Twisted" versions. Or even the last generations of factory Station Wagons with electric windows and carpets... scared
