Sat having pork pie and mushy peas and a pot of Yorkshire tea at the Oil Can Cafe Holmfirth looking out on to a brace of nice Morgans.

The Cafe has a website: The Carding Shed or Oil Can Cafe Holmfirth in Yorkshire.

Its where they filmed Last of the Summer Wine country.

It is a thriving classic car restorer center (working on all makes,Bugatti,Lagonda,Hotrods). There are a couple of vintage shops
has evening dance classes and Jazz bands.
All the staff wear 40's/50's clothes..the afternoon teas are fantastic..all the food is local and quality.

I often drive the 1hour from York just for a mealor a drink..and everytime you are sat among whatever cars are being worked on at the time.
Perfect petrolhead cafe and meeting venue.

Although not located in the same building, we have Krazy Horse with a great American/biker themed restaurant with loads of great custom bikes then over the road, the Morgan show room.
The Memsahib and I often take a pleasant drive down from The Broads to have lunch there. thumbs

Here for a good time not a long time!!

I hope the rumor I heard from a local chap who go's there quite a lot are unfounded.....He told me a month or so ago that the whole place might be closing down due to the current land owners plans to build a housing estate on the land.

...so...perhaps if anyone out there has always fancied going but hasn't yet, might not leave it too much later, just in case the rumor is true.

....and...if it is true, I very much hope that they find another place to operate from. It is without doubt a special kind of place and it would be a tragedy if it didn't continue.
