Peter, I'm sorry to see you're health has been suffering along with a punishing work schedule. Your decision is totally understandable and thanks for your input so far. Look after your health first and fore most.

No doubt a difficult decision to face but when it comes to health the work load needs to be sorted out. MSCC may turn out to be more fun from the sidelines!

I'm really sorry to hear that you are unable to continue your work with the club Peter, but health and family life must always come first. It sounds as if you are working harder than ever, instead of winding down towards retirement, please don't overdo it, life is short enough as it is, and getting shorter.

Please review your retirement plan regularly - a lot can change in two years.
If your work is enjoyable and your illness controllable than all is good.
I dropped out as my work life was not controllable and was ringing health alarm bells. The work-life balance and your health is all.

The MSCC might well have been more stressful at times than your work!
As Glenn said keep a close review on work / retirement plans - keeping as healthy as possible is a most important element to continuing enjoyment of family (and Tarka!).

Many thanks for letting us all know, and being prepared to be so open with us all. Your health must come first and I am sure you have made the right decision for yourself.

I wonder if we have another TM memebr who is prepared to take on the role of playing devil's advocate to the MSCC committee. There have been so many "questionable" decisions recently , the sacking of Quentin and the outsourcing of Miscellany to name but two, that many of us feel the committee is becoming too distant from the rank and file membership, and is making decision which are "business" based rather than reflecting the needs of the membership. Are there any willing volunteers (one volunteer being worth 10 pressed man)
