Was advised to change my 2008 tyres last year although lots of tread left. Much better ride and handling since, and feel safer to.

I have just changed the spare on mine for a non directional budget tyre. The puncture was on the 'wrong side' so I had to creap to the tyre depot with the tyre going the wrong way. Probably illegal and dodgy in an accident. There is a 50% chance of this happening with a directional spare yet most Morgans have them. No point spending on a good tyre when it is seldom used and it needs replacing every 6 years, plus it is increasing difficult to match patterns with your existing tyres. I didn't think of that when I fitted the Michelin CrossClimate until I realised that the spare was directional. If I had thought about it beforehand I would have fitted a non directional tyre for the spare. By the way mine were 2011 tyres so only 5 years old and still had plenty of meat.

Yes all the premium and mid price tyres seemed to be directional and they could only find a Landsail which had a very traditional pattern.
205/60/15 V rated £45 only for use in emergency as a get you home.
It may not be the best performer but its better than a space saver or a tyre on the wrong way in the wet!

Avon CR6ZZ are not directional and if you drive properly they won't last 5 years either

And I must say that the 2016 Avons are better in the wet than the 2012 Avons...........

Dave are they still the CR6ZZ as like you I find mine to be great in the dry ok in wet but b*** awfull if any standing water.
Have been thinking of changing them.

Have been thinking of changing them. The CrossClimate are excellent in the wet and really grip under braking in the wet. They are good in snow and ice too  The only downside is that they seem to feel best at a higher pressure than most people run in a Morgan and the braking distance may be fractionally longer in the dry and they seem to be a little more prone to a slight loss of traction under hard acceleration from a standing start in the dry. I am currently running 1.6 bar in the front and 1.8 bar in the back.

Have been thinking of changing them. Yes they are. The tread pattern on the latest is different. The centre straight cut is now a zig zag. I've done a lot of wet miles so far and even in standing water they seem better. But I'm also aware that the tread is new so I need more time to decide whether I like them or not.

I have Avon ZV5's on my 2.0 plus 4, all dated Oct 2010 and therefore original equipment (205/60R15/91V). Mileage is very low (10k) and they look good but I don't want to come unstuck on the road or in court. Should I change them? If so, what does anyone recommend - the ZV5 is now replaced by the ZV7 but is that OK? And given the comment about directional or bidirectional tyres which is best and what should I have as a spare?

I'd recommend changing them due to their age. I'm sure you'll get plenty of advice on choice..!!
I have no experience on those tyres, I'm afraid.
