A little story of patience…In February 2004 my brother, Sammy, ordered a Ferrari F430. He knew it was going to be a long wait. Well in October 2005 we read a road test on the 2006 Corvette Z06. It was a pacifier for him and a dream car for me. They couldn't make them fast enough and the dealer markups were $20,000 over MSRP. We found one locally at a more reasonable price and partnered on the purchase. It was a fun car for him and an awesome car for me. In December 2006 he got news from Maranello that his car was ready for delivery. It had been over 2 1/2 years and he could not wait any longer. It was air freighted at a cost of $7500!

Well I'm back from one of the best days ever. I joined the 11am tour, but when I got to the M3W workshop, that was it. Firstly, 84012 and 84024 have not been started yet. However, they are building 10 per week and just reached 84000. Yes apparently they do build in number sequence, or so they showed me. Tom, your car exists as attached image! They had folders for the next cars Upto 84020, so sorry Ken but you are that close. As for mine, I spent an hour with the builder, Lee, a really cool enthusiastic guy. We went through almost every item of the car. The body might have been put in late today or definitely tomorrow. Delivery in about two weeks. Gulp 😄. I took so many images, just a few are attached.

Excellent news Glenn - I really like that colour combo!

The excitement mounts!

Not many if any places where you can see your car being built and talk to the guy who is building it!

Re the fishtail exhaust tips, no one has seen them, no one has spec'd them yet. However they will not fit a stage one exhaust pipe as the ends are rolled

Wow Glenn, I am envious of your day spent in Malvern! Thanks so much for taking that photo of my impending build....I just got very excited!

That Aston Martin Sage Green paint is gorgeous! Really classy colour....love it! Is the center console that they were holding up into your car actually your center console in Imperial Red? It looks more dark tan colour than red. I actually love that colour and I think it goes very well with Sage Green body.

Do you verify that they have all of your parts in stock to complete your build? I am hoping there are no more delays for parts, including all of the new 2016 options.

I am very excited for you Glenn, and can't wait to see your finished build! I assume you are somewhat local there in England, so delivery should be rather seamless.

Please post more pics....I'm sure others, including myself, would like to see them.

Cheers!

Glenn,

BTW, what year is your 328 GTS? I have one too...mine is a '89. White with red, with ABS. I just clocked 12,500 miles on her.

WAY TO GO Glenn! I am envious of the opportunity to see and talk to the builder of your baby.

And Tom you can zoom in on the Build Folder. They crossed off the 42 and made it a 40. A little optimistic but I am hoping for the same treatment. And check out the VIN Number….you have a VIN Number!!! You can work on securing insurance now.

It looks like their is no lack of S&S engines. That is more good news.

Thanks for the report and the pics.

Yes they have all parts and forsee no delays. The long delay was down to engine issues. Like i said, ten or so and week now, so I'm sorry I just missed both your cars going into build, but chuffed to get Toms record. I'm sure I spent far too long with Lee, really nice guy. Yes the gearbox that Lee is holding is mine. It does look really nice and something they don't list as an option is that they can do the stitching in a contrasting colour, so mine matches the paintwork 👍. Btw Lee started a completed car with stage 1 kit and wow, loud or what 😀
