There are patterns in life arent there? Times to do things, and things that fit in with the times. From the marrying , breeding, retiring watermarks of life to the trivial routines of everyday life.

This week has been our personal autumn solstice. Turn on the central heating for one. I have a wardrobe with two levels or hanger rail, so the second job has been to switch all the short sleeved shirts / polo shirts from the bottom to the top and vice versa with the long sleeved ones. Shorit pyjamas have gone to be replaced by grandpa PJs. And its been apple peeling and coring time as the crop ripens.

Some years ago I bought an combined peeler corer gadget that skewers an apple on a trident and then using an archimedes screw ( thats fame for you - fancy your name being in common use two thousand years later. Eat your heart out rubber lips Kim )it is advanced onto a peeler blade and a corer blade. Simple but ridiculously pleasurable.

And its funny how pleasurable these routines are, as long as I dont dwell on how many times I have done it in the past and how few time in the future statistics tell me I have.

I guess it's all about living in the moment. Which I find is easier said than done the older I become.

My dog however, keeps my mind in check, because I know he always lives in the moment and he always displays such happiness and contentment. It doesn't matter how many times he repeats the things he enjoys doing. It's like it's the first time, every time.

Oh definitely - especially the "curates egg" model known as the M3W, never a dull moment in the enjoyment or annoyance areas of life (allegedly).

only if you take the windscreen off, fit aeroscreens and drive it like you are in your Ferrari!

That might bring a bit of colour to the cheeks

We've not turned the heating on yet, as we find driving open top cars, coming home is actually toasty still once we get in!

Mind you the real autumnal event has happened on one of the ST, the HT has gone on! (should ensure that the next month is glorious!)

Too early for the heating yet. I'm on day 2 of wearing a jumper inside though.
I cut the grass today. I doubt it's the last cut, and the perimeter hedge needs a lick in a week or two.

That's the change point, when there's no more gardening to do until spring.
